G&L Featured Artist: Tom Jackson of the Tom Jackson Band

Tom Jackson and his G&L ASAT Classic

We sat down with the guitarist/singer for a few minutes to ask him some questions...

Tell us about yourself.

"For more than a decade I’ve been the lead singer of the Tom Jackson Band based in South Florida and currently touring all over the state. I’m a self-taught guitarist and drummer and a successful songwriter, with my music being featured on the Fox television show Human Target, along with music on the Outdoor Channel for shows such as Red Arrow TV and Savage Outdoors."

"We’re proud to promote the recent release of our new EP “Knee Deep in Country,” which was recorded at Morristown studios by all of the band members and features music written by me and one co-written with James Breedwell. And with a tour schedule of nearly 200 dates per year, we’re enjoying our growing fan base and exciting new venues and audiences."

How long have you been with G&L? You and your bandmates play them in several of your videos, including an ASAT Special with a terrific paint job.

"I have been playing G&L guitars for over 10 years and I have been a artist on the roster for eight."

Which model do you use now?

"I have the ASAT Classic Sunburst with single binding on top. Someday I would love to have a double binding ASAT Classic Honey Burst."

What is your go-to pickup position, and what do you like about it?

"Bridge: it gives me the Nashville spanking tone with a warm bottom end."

What projects are you currently working on?

"We play all over the East coast for now and are working on shows on the West coast soon. Our new album, “Knee Deep In Country,” came out Dec. 24th, 2016 and our first video, "Emily," was released in May 2017. We will be shooting our second video, “Back of My Truck Bed,” in a few months."
