ASAT® Bass Semi-Hollow
When Leo Fender† launched the G&L L-2000™ bass in 1980, it was clear he was ready to make history all over again. Never before had such a wide range of tones come from a single bass, and throughout its evolution the iconic L-2000 has continued to win the hearts of bassists of every style and musical taste. Once the ASAT guitar came around in '86, it didn't take long for Leo to apply this body shape to a bass. The ASAT Bass is essentially an L-2000 packed into an ASAT body shape, with a narrower 1 1/2" nut width to help balance the instrument. The result is one the coolest looking basses ever to come from Leo Fender, with all the power and flexibility of an L-2000. Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith has been a fan of ASAT Basses since the '90s and now has his own ASAT Bass Tom Hamilton signature model.
The foundation of the ASAT Bass is a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design™ humbuckers backed by the flexible Tri-Tone™ control system, providing the sort of versatility that’ll let you find your tone no matter what kind of bass line you’re laying down. The Tri-Tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for volume, treble and bass. With all that under the hood, Leo gave the ASAT Bass the kind of chops that’ll fit in any situation, from classic R&B to power-packed rock to poppin’ funk. What’s more, the ASAT Bass features an innovative Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock™ bridge to transfer string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument. On the other end is a comfortable, C-shaped neck checking in with a comfortable 9 1/2" radius and 21 Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets ready to deliver silky playability.
The ASAT Bass Semi-Hollow takes all this goodness and adds another twist: a semi-hollow Swamp Ash body. The MFD humbuckers have always been known for their detailed articulation, and the semi-hollow body adds even more air around notes while softening a little of the attack transient.
Made in Leo Fender’s historic G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, the ASAT Bass Semi-Hollow is available with a wide range of custom options including body and neck woods, body and neck finishes, and neck profiles.

ASAT® Junior II
ASAT Junior II: P-90s Done Right.
G&L ASATs: Great players have been workin’ ‘em and G&L’s been moddin’ ‘em for nearly 30 years. Ash, Alder, Mahogany, Korina … solid and semi-hollow … MFD and Alnico single-coils, humbuckers, P90s … two-pickup, three-pickup – you get the point: the ASAT’s a tone machine, and now G&L’s Tribute Series has grown with the tweaked-for-tone ASAT Junior II.
The ASAT Junior II carries two Paul Gagon-designed P90 pickups, specially spec-ed to deliver stellar tones in each position and with matched output for more truly usable rhythm/lead switching. No more fumbling with the volume trying to find balance between the P90s.
The Junior II features an easy-playing, medium-C profile neck with 12” radius and 1 5/8” nut width for a classic ASAT feel that greets the hand like an old friend. Add on Tone-Pros bridge/tailpiece hardware, delicious Trans Red-finished Mahogany body and Hard Rock Maple neck with Brazilian Cherry board and you’ve got one versatile ASAT that effortlessly covers a wide range of sonic territory.
The Junior II has popped up before in short-run Custom Creations models made at G&L’s Fullerton, California shop, but this is the first time it's been this widely available. On top of that, it's part of G&L’s Tribute Series, which has been garnering rave reviews for more than a decade thanks to its solid combination of tone, quality and value.
Yet again the ASAT has proven that versatility is deep in its DNA.

Ascari™ GT-90
The Ascari GTS broke new ground for G&L, and the team of Paul Gagon and Grover Jackson are back with a new flavor that’ll take you back without being another throwback.
The Ascari GT-90 takes all the carefully designed architecture from the GTS and dials up P-90 tone that’s better than ever. Typical P-90-equipped guitars suffer an imbalance between the neck and bridge pickups, forcing you to struggle with dual volume controls to find a balance. Not with the GT-90. You see, Gagon’s wound countless P-90 type pickups and used his deep understanding of pickup engineering to create an amazingly well-matched set. With a single volume control, a world of harmonically rich P-90 tone is finally accessible with ease.
Such a guitar should have a classic look, and the Ascari GT-90 delivers with a rich, old-school Tobacco Sunburst finish over its crème-bound mahogany body and neck, reinforced by classic crème pickup covers, gold speed knobs and understated dot inlay. This is the P-90 guitar you’ve dreamed of: superbly balanced tone in an incredibly well-balanced, light weight instrument. In other words, just what you’d expect from Paul and Grover.
